Save women, save India

Being in the 21^st century, with technology and world so advanced, “Are women safe, in India?” By trying to analyse the situation around us, we realize that ‘women are NOT SAFE’ in any ways. Some harassment cases are reported, some are not, whereas some are neglected. Yes, nothing has been done to change the law or the system.

Women have been advancing, progressing and have proved that they can beat men in any sector they are in. Yet, they fight for equality. Women face the various tortures in many ways in their lives.

Even today , the educated society which claims to be high class society opts for abortion of the girl child! The only reason that people state is “it is expensive to bring up a girl child. When a girl child is born, the first thought of the parents run towards dowry. Aren’t men and their parents ashamed of asking dowry even today?

From the womb till her tomb, a women faces danger. In the womb, the chances of being killed, even before seeing the light. While growing , she faces harsh brutalities like molestation, abusing, physical and mental tortures. WHAT A LIFE! One has to understand that women are also human beings. They also have their own thoughts, desires and dreams. How could they just be taken for granted?

Statistics shows that every year there is a drastic increase of crimes against women. The laws has not taken any strict action in such cases and to add more shame, there have been lawyers to defend these criminals! The loss is only to the victim’s family and loves ones. This is how our judicial system works.

The law has to be changed with regard to such cases of women harassment. There has to be punishment and fast tracks to monitor such cases. Education is must for all. Respecting the opposite gender has to be thought in the school and parents also have to join hands in this regard. Judicial system needs to undergo a change. Corrupt officers need to be thrown out and punished, whereas , efficient ones to be brought in. There can be a Full stop to dowry system by taking strict actions without considering their status and influence

Women should be able to walk around freely, without the fear of being attacked anytime, anywhere. SAVE WOMEN.
