Book review : Till the last breath
‘Till the Last Breath’ is a fiction that revolves around characters i.e, Pihu, Dushyant, Armaan, Zara and Kajal and the line of events that connects their dots together.
Storyline goes like : Two different personalities in the same room in the hospital, Room No. 509, perfectly di-pole, where the boy, named Dushyant Roy, an drug-alcoholic, who hate his life, is suffering from severe kidney failure, and on the other bed is an ever-smiling angel, Pihu, both destined to die, and how their life, journey in the room to death is beautifully pictured by Durjoy Datta, who will stun you and surprise you.
The three other important characters is Dr. Armaan, who has a very bad past, which he’d grounded beneath himself. There is Zara, a beautiful intern, working under Armaan, who have been raped at the age of 15, that’s why she hates her father, who didn’t believe her, and hates man’s creed. And there is Kajal, who is lovable, rich, and Dushyant loved her and had broken up with him, and involved with a rich friend.
The story in short is the hate and friendship relation between Dushyant and Pihu, the love relation between Kajal and Dushyant and Zara, the love relation between Pihu and Armaan, and everybody’s dark past, which make you to sail through the complete novel without stopping.
Armaan want to save Pihu in any case, while Zara want to save Dushyant in any case. Who save whom? That forms the climax of the novel, that I won’t tell, but ask you to read it once.
Life is cruel, unfair and difficult, we all say; but while reading this you will agree to the part that we too make our life much more miserable by our decisions, obsessions and perceptions. Durjoy successfully conveys the message of Valuing Life and Taking Wise Decisions with this work.
Its definitely a good read that provokes you to think about life and relationships!
